Resin bound patio - Bridgwater
Bridgwater Canyon Stone resin patio extension
This Bridgwater resin patio extension turned a gravel side garden strip into a clean Canyon Stone resin bound patio and side access. The job included tree and shrub clearance, dig-out, MOT Type 1 preparation, concrete base work and final resin installation around the boundary edging and service covers.
Project summary
- Location
- Bridgwater, Somerset
- Surface
- Canyon Stone resin bound patio
- Existing area
- Gravel, planting and side garden strip
- Preparation
- Tree removal, clearance, dig-out and base work
- Base
- MOT Type 1 preparation with concrete base
- Finish
- Resin bound patio and side access with recessed covers
Challenges
- The existing side garden area contained gravel, planting and vegetation that needed clearing before the patio extension footprint could be prepared.
- The long side access needed consistent levels between the house wall, fence line, timber edge restraints and service covers.
- The final resin surface had to be installed neatly around recessed covers and existing paved edges so the finished patio looked continuous.
Solution
- Cleared the side garden area, removed trees and shrubs, and dug out the footprint for the new patio extension.
- Prepared the MOT Type 1 base and installed the concrete base stage to create a stable platform for the resin bound finish.
- Delivered the resin bound materials to site and installed the Canyon Stone resin surface across the patio extension and side access.
- Finished the resin neatly around the timber edging, brickwork, existing paving and recessed service covers.
Why resin worked well for this Bridgwater patio extension
Resin bound surfacing suited this Bridgwater side access because it created a smooth, low-maintenance finish through a long narrow strip beside the house.
The preparation mattered as much as the final surface: clearance, dig-out, base work, edging and cover details all had to be handled before the resin was installed.
For local Bridgwater properties, resin patios and side paths can be a practical way to replace loose gravel or awkward garden strips with a cleaner everyday access route.
