Resin bound driveway - Exminster
Exminster Palazzo resin driveway installation
This Exminster resin bound driveway project replaced the existing block paving with a Palazzo resin bound finish, framed by charcoal block borders. The work included lifting the old paving, preparing the driveway and side access, forming a new doorstep step, installing the concrete base and completing the resin surface through to the garage approach.

Challenges
- The original block paving needed to be lifted across the driveway, side access and garage approach before the new resin system could be built up.
- The side run, garage approach and doorstep threshold all needed careful level planning so the finished surface tied together cleanly.
- The new resin finish needed retained edges, a neat doorstep step and clean transitions into the existing neighbouring paving.
Solution
- Lifted and cleared the existing block paving across the main driveway, side access and garage approach.
- Set out charcoal block borders to define the driveway shape and retain the finished resin bound surface.
- Formed the new doorstep step and prepared the concrete base through the side run, driveway and garage access.
- Installed the Palazzo resin bound surface, hand finishing it around the step, borders and access details.
Why resin worked well for this Exminster driveway
Resin bound surfacing gave this Exminster driveway a cleaner, lower-maintenance finish than the original block paving while keeping strong edge definition with charcoal borders.
The side access and garage approach made preparation important, with the concrete base, step and border details completed before the resin surface was installed.
For Exminster and Exeter-area homes, resin can work well where the driveway needs a smoother finish, neat thresholds and practical access around the side of the property.
